Medway Volunteer Workshop in Kent is a local initiative to help a national charity, Tools with a Mission, headquartered in Ipswich

Volunteer

Join our band of volunteers in Gillingham

We already have over 35 volunteers, between them manning the workshop Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm

If you, or anyone you know, have practical skills and can commit to one or more days (mornings and/or afternoons) or even just a half day (especially afternoons) each week to refurbish tools or sewing machines, please get in touch with us - you can make a real difference

This mainly suits retired tradespeople with a few hours to spare each week, working alongside like-minded volunteers. MVW is especially looking for people with a mechanical or electrical background to work on sewing machines (training is provided). Plenty of parking at Elm Court. Please spread the word.

Medway Volunteer Workshop need a volunteer fundraiser to help unlock the many sources of financial support available to us.

Tool Refurbishing Team

This ranges from saw sharpening, plane restoration and drill sharpening, through to any number of other tasks that ensure these tools go on to last many more years.

Sewing Machine Refurbishing Team

Tools with a Mission has sent thousands of Sewing and Knitting Machines to Africa, ranging from treadle to manual, electric and industrial.

At Gillingham, we have a great team who inspect, repair and refurbish these sewing machines.  Suits people with an electrical or mechanical background - full training is given.
